2025 - February - Bill H.
Hello again.

Todays GTG was only a small one for a lucky select few.
From what I hear those that managed to snag a place enjoyed themselves.

We thank Bill for his hospitality, Food and drink :)

Bill says his equipment is (necessarily) grassroots entry and experimental.
All pieces are quite basic, the design idea being: how much can one expect from "good" design at "affordable" cost.

Music Source: old Voxson CD player only, Toslink out.
Power Amps: essentially own execution with circuit elements based on a number of published designs.
For reference, they sound similar to Rod Elliott's P3A....65W @ 8 Ohm, set up as stereo pairs driving 2-way hybrid speakers.
Pre-amp and Crossovers: provided by miniDSP (with further EQ and room compensation by REW and DIRAC....
If successfully installed; otherwise EQ'd by ear).
Speakers: Tall, slim (172mm wide) sealed enclosures with MTM in top section, subs in lower section.
The 3-way system is hybrid, in that the Vifa / ScanSpeak MTM are passively crossed, while the miniDSP provides active crossover to the Dayton subs (mounted laterally), plus all compensation.
(The MTM drivers are the same as Brian Moore's were, in his Lynn Olson's Ariels).
Cables: are early KL Eichmann designs, interconnects home-made with sensible quality elements.
The Room: is a "standard" lounge room, with no special acoustic treatment.
